Granary Elevator and Lofts

Our project was to design a new mixed use retail and LIHTC housing project adjacent to the Midland Trail on the site of the former grain elevator near the Historic Downtown Square

Square Footage:

3 stories consisting of 12, 000 sq ft of retail and 54 LIHTC apartments including energy efficient site and building features

Construction:

Wood and steel conventional framing, including brick, horizontal and vertical decorative metal and composite wall panels

Unique Challenges:

The major design challenges were to design an efficient mixed use site meeting all the requirements of the LIHTC application, keeping the historic character of the original use, blending into the existing fabric of the South West Quad community and making a strong connection to the Historic Downtown Square.
